The season of joy & eating...

Is Christmas time!!!  As usual we knock off slightly earlier than usual and celebrated Ms Wong's birthday.   Yah, her wish or is it our wish that we no need to celebrate with her next year.  Haha.. Obviously I said the wrong things and was quoted in her blog till GCC had to inform me that too ;P

I had fun at the celebration even though the journey to the resturant was long and tiring.  Our tour guide, Ms Minah, brought us on a hot and tiring route.  And it is quite embrassing for our Chinese colleague to ask why we go by that route.  Hahaa... Lesson learnt, never bring a forginer out, cos everytime something will go wrong.
By the time I ate this, it was abt 3.30pm.  And we left office at 2pm.  Luckily food is great and this thing is huge!!!

Luckily Sabrina love the food :)

Bimbo loves to bitch ;)
Somehow we got Ms Wong the same cake as last year.  Seems like the annual event to eat this cake.

Happy Birthday!!!

Went home after the late lunch for our very own Christmas party! Enya checking out the food.

Sis got this nice fruit cake from her hotel

As usual the most happy person is this lady with all the presents :)

We gals got new shades from my brother-in-law :)

The Bimbo finally got married....

2 weeks ago, my bimbotic friend finally got married.  She is the first bimbo friend that I got to know.  Is a surprise that we can be more than colleague.   First impression of her is a CMI girl who twirl her hair during a meeting when whole world was waiting for her response to boss' question.  And best boss was fuming mad then.  Haha.....  She got a bitchy look lah.  So if you only look at her, you may not want to talk to her.

I can't remember how the 2 of us got along so well.  I guess she surprise me that other than having bitchy and bimbotic look, she also got the brains.  She is the "potatoes" while I am the "sweet potates".   But somehow we can still relate to each other despite the language barrier.  And thanks to her, I am trying very hard to prevent my dear niece to become another "potatoes".

The 5 years of working together has made us into "friends" (and not just colleague ;P).  Is through work that we got to know each other more.  But I must say my bimbo friend, is more than just a hardworking worker, she is also a filial daughter.  The past few months she also shown me that she is a wonderful partner whom stood by her now husband through the tough time.   So my dear friend, wishing you and Jeff a very blissful marriage.  And may you fulfil your wish to be a Tai Tai soon :)

Ok, now is time for the highlights of the 2 days weddings.  It was like a departmental outing for us till my boss sort of mistaken herself as the mother of the bride.  Hahaa...

Time is flying......

Long time never blog and end of the year is coming!!! What have I been doing???  Past few months have been eventful - drama happening at work to at home.  But am glad that things are all settle in a way.

Grandma fell and was warded a few mths ago.  Was grateful for my dear kawans who were the MSW IC.  Of course their attempt to prevent my identity from being exposed is greatly appreciated.  Haha.. now thinking back I find it funny especially when I have to own up and justify to my own boss why my Grandma can't be discharge despite the bed crunch :P  It is definately not fun sorting out your own social issues.  But somehow I manage to do it, am proud of myself.  Only thing that I dread now is CNY.   Another opportunity to see how people wayang...

Got to deal with a few shit cases for the past few months.   All the atas people till I wonder why I am so suay since I am not doing private wards.  Concluded that my life sucks.  Being label as unhelpful MSW is so common these days till I gave up arguing with these people. Can call me whatever you want.  Haha.. I only cannot be "Promising Social Worker" only ;)

Yah, went to Istana that day for the annual President Tea.  This year Promising Social Worker is our dear FRIEND!!!  Hehee... note I am calling him friend now cos he is flying high.  I am hoping that he will head hunt me which he has ignored my request despite me telling him.

Photo with the President since he invites us for tea :)

I also sort of reflected a bit about why he is Promising and why I am not. Concluded that I must be grateful that boss never sack me since all I do is to tell her that I will die whenever she ask me to study or do something out of the normal duties. Haha... Yah so Promising SW deserve what he gets lah :)

I know I am blessed with a bunch of great colleagues (whom I call them my friends ;P), blacklisters and of course my family.  These are people that keeps me going when life get a little bit tough.  Thanks to them I am still going strong.   I love you guys and thank you for being such great pals!!!  My year end wish is for everyone to be happy and healthy.  May all our life get a little better in the new year :)

Jay Chou The Era 2010 World Tour

Attend Jay Chou's concert last night.  Since when I am not his fans right?  Haha... But why am I there?  Esp when the tickets are so hard to get.  Well I got a SIAO sister who is so call his fans.  Anyway sis treats me to the concert cos I refuse to pay for it :)
Yah so somehow she was lucky to buy the tickets for the last show.

While we were looking for our seats, my sis keep saying that we were actually quite near to the stage.

And guess what? We were sitting in the last row!!!
See the wall behind, confirm is last row lor.  Haha...

We got super excited when we realised that they actually sponsor this kind of balloon thingy for the concert.  But we need to blow them ourselves.
The 2 balloons that became flat very soon especially the way that my sis use them.  Haha..

The concert starts and that is Jay Chou!

I was a bit amazed by the lyrics thingy that was opposite the stage.  Think is for Jay Chou.

It was a great preformance as the visual effect, dancers, costumes were very good.  With regards to singing, Jay Chou, still mumbles lah.  Haha.. I don't really understand what he is singing esp for fast songs.  The best part of the concert is him playing the piano and singing.  That is the time when you can hear him the best.

So in general the concert is good, don't mind being there with my sis who was a bit crazy.  Standing up and screaming with her neighbour (not me, some random siao fans).  Note: we were sitting in the last row.  Haha.... Anyway I don't mind going to Jay Chou's concert again especially if someone is going to sponsor me again!  :)

咸菜命....

I always know that I am not a lucky person which is why I always don't have luck in lucky draw.  Has been trying to ballot for the Singapore Flyer pass for months but not successful.  So when Ah Jiao got the pass for the weekend and offer to let me have it on Sunday, I was super super happy.  Yah, so despite raining today, went to Tampines to meet Ah Jiao to collect the pass.

The whole family left for Singapore Flyer at about 6pm and Enya was super excited.  But guess what???  A guy was standing at the entrance of the carpark and told us the Flyer is closed for the day!!!  He claimed that it was due to some aircon system.

So how???
Enya was very disappointed.  Ok,I will try to ballot for that stupid pass again.  Like what Ah Jiao say, I am just not fated to use that pass.  Hiazzzzzzzz....  really 咸菜命!

MSW Chapter Amazing Race 2010

MSW Chapter organised Amazing Race this year to replace the annual dinner.  Something new and fun for everyone.  As usual I am involved in the planning again.  Once you are in Chapter, thats it!  Can't get away from it.  But I must say planning for this event is definately more fun and relaxing this time.  Must thank the leader and also other members for all the help.

We send a team for the race and the team call themselves Team AOR.  AOR means discharge againist medical advice.  So according to them, all of them have medical conditions and have AOR or default treatment somehow.  Yah, so it is call Race At Own Risk.

Captain Wong and her Team AOR

Team AOR after the race...  the bimbos with the fans ;P

Thank you to team AOR for putting all the hard work to participate.  Even though we did not win, I am sure you guys have fun right?  :)

The eventful June...

June was a very eventful month.  It was a terrible start for the first 2 weeks.  Dealing with SGN and subsequently resulting in severe gastric pain for a few weeks.  And not to forget that my BIG 30 celebration was also affected by that SGN.

Anyway I think god decides that it is enough suffering for me.  Haha... Life has definately been much better and happier for the reminder of the month.  Met up with different groups of friends including friends from Hong Kong, just that somehow we forgot to take photos!!!

I won tickets to watch Toy Story 3.  My luck was changing.  Watched the show with Enya and Sis last weekend.  It was good and Enya simply love it!!!

The office also celebrated my BIG 30 birthday at end of the month.  Time flies... I was only 23 yrs old when they first celebrate my birthday :(

The sad thing is that our dear Rashidah quit and left us.  Well I guess she must be enjoying herself now with no SWIS and HCA.  If only I can have that courage to do what she did.  Haha..

My trip to Hokkadio

Went for 7 days tour to Hokkadio with my mum.  I will say the trip is wonderful expect for the fact that Mum fell ill on the last 2 days before we came back.  Even visit the Japanese Dr when we were at Sapporo.  The Dr is a nice uncle, got good bedside manners.  Lucky our tour leader is also good.  Can speak Jap and helps us to translate.  Of course that also means that I need to pay.  A simple consulation fee and some medicine cost us $5160 yen which is abt S$70+.  The good thing is that Mum is better now after contributing to maintenace of our sports car GP immediately after we came back.  Haha.. I think sports car GP just has loyal patients.

Ok, some photos taken from the trip....

Our first meal in Japan, Narita airport - Cha Siew Ramen, cost $950 yen.  Taste ok only.

At the Bear Ranch on our 2nd day.

The huge bears at the ranch.  All very clever, will wave at us to ask for food.

Sakura!!!!

We got off the bus and take photos at road side :)

The huge crab that cost $10K yen
I did not eat this cos nobody eating sashimi with me and I really think it is a bit too expensive.

You can find this in all over people's garden.

Good old memories...

Was doing some housekeeping for my camera memory card and found some old photos.  Can't help but feel that the people in the photos looks young!!!  Haha...  Miss those times that the few of us will do crazy things together after work.

The classic photo for lover to take for matchmaking.  Haha...

The expensive ramen we had after some Kingfisher exercise & Captain ball training
Think it cost abt $20 per bowl including that braised egg.  Taste wonderful but too exp.

Taken on National Day (if I don't remember wrongly).
Must be quite sometime back cos Ailing Chen was still around.

Hanging around after work
Those days that Zahara entertain us with her rubbish.  Haha..
