Meaning : 心里没有远大志向。
What I like about Chinese idiom is that it really can illustrate the situation very well with just 4 words. This idiom just reflect about the people around me - ok including me too. I am sure most of my colleagues will agree with me ;)
Example 1 - Conversation with Cousin
Me : How's you results huh?
Cousin : Ok lah.
Me : Ok means pass or fail?
Cousin : Pass lah, Poly very easy to pass one
Me : Oh so I assume that you are going to pass with distinction lah.
Cousin : No lah, just pass can already.
Me : You will regret when you start working. People doing the same job as you is earning more than you. Just because you don't have the paper qualifications.
Cousin : Never mind lah, my ambition is to marry a rich man and be a Tai Tai
Me : .................. *Faint*
Example 2 - The must ask question in appraisal - "Where do you see yourself in 5 years time"
A : Seriously why will anyone say that they want to study Masters or write papers (research). Or even be promoted with more work and less pay. Why will anyone want to see themselves still slogging in 5 yrs time.
B : So what do you see yourself in 5 years time?
A : To be married and be a Tai Tai.
Think my boss will faint non-stop if we tell her the truth. But I am also very sure that she knows how CMI her staff are just by the refusal to further our studies, go HMDP, write papers etc.

Yah not only find a rich man but must be able to qualify for all your fine prints. Haha...
